“We love this small local museum. It’s not very big and doesn’t take long to see but the staff is friendly. Don’t forget to see the civil War artifacts in the back building.”
“A lovely museum with friendly, helpful staff.”
“As a Slidell, LA native I visited this place a few times and I always found it nice way to kill some time and learn some history of my hometown. The guides are local, knowledgeable, and friendly. As you walk through the museum you can find Civil War artifacts, period clothing as well as Mardi Gras costumes over the yrs, and tons of fact about Slidell. It’s amazing to see how much it has grown since the days of the original Railroad camp. Most, if not all, of the exhibits have been donated by locals or people who have found the relics around town. If you visit Slidell, you NEED to visit our little museum.”
“Very small local museum located inside the old tiny prison. The guide is very nice and knowledgeable. Don’t forget to check out the second floor which houses some really neat Mardi Gras costumes and stuff. Free admission but please donate some money.”
